Terms of service

Effective July 7, 2026

Soundliner ("we", "us") is operated by Matthew Peters, a sole proprietor based in the United States. By creating an account or using the service at soundliner.com, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

What Soundliner is

Soundliner is a hosted website for musicians. Artists build a page at soundliner.com/u/<handle> that gathers their releases, shows, galleries, and timeline in one place, and share that URL with fans. Soundliner links out to where music already lives (Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, YouTube, and so on) — we do not host audio.

Fan accounts are free. Artist accounts include a free builder tier: the full editor plus a private preview. Publishing a public site and claiming a handle require a paid subscription.

Your account

You need to give an accurate email and keep your login credentials confidential. You're responsible for activity under your account. If you're signing up on behalf of a band or business, you confirm you have authority to do so. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

Subscription and billing

Paid subscriptions are $12 per month, or $120 per year (two months free). One tier, all features, either way. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries relating to payments and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from Settings → Manage billing, which opens the Paddle customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues to the end of the current billing period. See our refund policy for the 30-day money-back guarantee.

What you can put on Soundliner

You keep ownership of your content — bio, images, links, and everything you upload. You grant Soundliner a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the service (including delivering it to your fans and generating optimized image variants).

You confirm you have the rights to what you upload and link. You will not use Soundliner to:

  • Break the law or violate someone else's rights (including copyright, trademark, and privacy).
  • Post content that is unlawful, deceptive, harassing, or infringing.
  • Send spam, run scams, or misrepresent who you are.
  • Probe, scrape, overload, or interfere with our infrastructure or other users' accounts.
  • Upload malware or attempt to circumvent security or access controls.
  • Resell, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the service.

Our stuff

The Soundliner software, design, branding, and documentation are ours. Using the service doesn't transfer any of that to you. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your subscription.

No money moves between artists and fans

Soundliner is not a marketplace. We don't process payments between artists and fans, we don't take a cut of anything you sell elsewhere, and we don't act as a ticketing or merch platform. Links out to third-party sellers are your relationship with those sellers.

Service availability

We work hard to keep Soundliner up and useful, but we can't promise uninterrupted or error-free performance. Features may change as the product evolves. We may schedule maintenance, add or remove capabilities, and adjust fair-use limits.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated serious policy violations. You can close your account at any time from Settings. When your account is deleted, your content is removed from our systems (see the privacy policy for details on retention). If a paid subscription ends without renewal, your site goes offline but your data is retained until you delete the account or the retention window passes — you can resubscribe and pick up where you left off.

Warranties and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Soundliner is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Our total liability arising out of or related to the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Soundliner harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top and, where reasonable, let you know by email or in-product notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to a different forum.
